The Committee would
like to thank Brian Pleasance, who regrettably had to resign due to
Personal Reasons as Secretary and Bar Manager of Selsey Cricket.
Brian has served
the Club well for many years and has worked tirelessly for the Club.
The Club and
Committee wish Brian all the best for the future.
This of course
leaves the position of Hon Secretary open.
This is a Non
Voting Honorary position, which involves taking the minutes at the
Committee Meetings, writing correspondence; ensuring licenses etc
are up to date and applied for.
This position does
not have to be taken by a Club Member, and anyone interested in
filling this position, please contact me.
We have just had out first meeting of the new
Committee.
We have appointed four additional Committee members.
The four will be younger Members, in the hope that they will first off
all learn more about the running of the Club, and also bring new ideas
and suggestions to the Committee.
The Four are James Amis, Josh Stocks, Jacob Miles and Tom Cripps.
At the Meeting I proposed two new Honorary Life Presidents, the highest
award the Club can give.
We have appointed some Life Members over the past years, but a long time
since we have elected Life Vice Presidents.
I happy to announce the two new members made Life Vice Presidents, for
their Long hard work for the Club are
Andrew Horner & Brian Pleasance.
The Opening Time on Fridays is now
7:30 p.m
This is the proposal for the 2 divisions of the new West Sussex
Invitation Cricket League (WSICL) that we'll be involved with next
year, there's a meeting on 30th September to confirm.

August Bank Holiday weekend - quite
simply a Major Success for the Club.
The Committee are very grateful for all
the effort put in both before and during the weekend, from members
and committee members alike in giving their time..
The contributions of prizes for the
"Tombola" stall ensured its success, with People clamouring to have
a go.
Likewise thanks to all the Mums who
baked cakes (or did Dads !) and caringly brought them to them up to
the Club for sale - more success all went well with the many teas
and coffees sold.
The Bar, at times we were on the verge
of being overwhelmed on Sunday night, during the firework display.
with the Club house packed to the Gills.
This time of year is a major fund raiser
for us, so once more many thanks.
On Behalf of the Committee
Brian Pleasance,
Hon Club Secretary
The Club will be open from 7:30 this Friday

Selsey Cricket Club darts team won the Division Two
Cup final against the Morgan A at the Football Club
congratulations to all the team.
To all Members,
Ref "My Selsey Dream" Mike Beal Chair Selsey
Town Council
You will no doubt be aware of the article by Mike Beal in the Selsey
Life publication, the outline which would eventually like to see a
sports facility for both Selsey FC and Selsey CC, and possibly include
other sports.
This is to advise you that the Club has been represented at two recent
meetings with the Town Council (Chairing) and Selsey FC, Selsey CC being
represent by John Reeve, Brian Pleasance, Ian Stocks, and Chris Hayers,
at which exploratory discussions have taken place, to see if it would be
in the long term, be beneficial for such a development to become a
reality, importantly both Clubs would retain their own constitution and
identity.
No firm decisions have been taken and members will be kept informed at
all times, such a venture could or would at some future date, all of
which would only come about if funding is available.
Brian Pleasance, Secretary.
Issued on behalf of the Committee.
John Reeve President / Acting Chairman.
6th April 2008
